OUR FAVOURITE PART OF OUR SCHOOL DAY
We love so many things about our Kindergarten
day! Try this activity in your classroom to share your
students' interests and preferences in a Kid Pix
SlideShow.
ACTIVITY PLAN:
Discuss the school day and the various activities we
participate in each day in a whole group setting.
In a group setting, discuss which part of the school day
each student enjoys the most and why.
Take
a colour picture using the digital camera of each
student engaging in their favourite part of the school day.
It may be helpful to invite a parent volunteer to assist
with this.
Download
the digital pictures onto the computer
Review
the features on The New Kid Pix with the students in a group
setting such as; the paint brush, pencil, stamp, and type
text.
Using
Kid Pix:
a) Have the student type his or her
name on to their picture using the type text function.
Allow the student to choose the colour of their type text
using the colour index.
b) Give the student the option of using
one of the Kid Pix 2 features to decorate their
pictures.
c) Encourage the students to use more
than one feature to complete their picture.
Have students rehearse their story by telling
about their favourite part of their school day.
Once each student has practiced his or her story and has
established a correct story structure (beginning, middle and
end), record the story using "Record a Sound" on Kid Pix in
the "Goodies" menu.
After
each student has completed their picture put all the
finished products into a slide show for viewing purposes
(group or individual). Download the pdf file for
instructions of How
to Create a Kid Pix Slideshow.
