Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School is pleased to offer Specialist High Skills Major programs in Construction and Hospitality. 

Our SHSM in Construction focuses on log home building.  Students receive additional certifications such as Fall Arrest training and Construction Safety training; certifications that they otherwise would not receive until pursuing a post-secondary career in construction.  The log home project is unique in that students are able to start and finish the build; therefore the skills they learn are well rounded.

Our SHSM in Hospitality involves the placement of students in the hospitality industry.  In the past, students in the program have had the privilege to work at local resorts.  Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School worked hard in partnerships with resorts such as Fern Resort in Orillia and Horseshoe Valley Resort in Oro-Medonte to ensure that students are receiving a broad knowledge of the hospitality industry.
